We’re Pao and Dani, founders of Mistyque. The idea for Mistyque was born at the end of 2023, during one of the most challenging times in Pao’s life. After nearly two years of unemployment, financial strain, and emotional exhaustion, she found herself searching for something to bring her peace. Her mental health was suffering, and she needed a change.

That’s when she turned to something simple yet powerful, lighting a candle. It became her daily ritual, a small moment of calm in the chaos. It wasn’t just about the light; it was about taking a breath, slowing down, and reconnecting with herself.

What started as a personal self-care ritual soon became something bigger. We realised how the glow of a candle and the power of scent could transform a space, shift a mood, and bring a sense of clarity during difficult moments. In those quiet pauses, Pao discovered that the light she was seeking had always been within her.

With Dani’s support, she embraced the idea of building something of her own. Over 48 hours of inspiration and creativity, we had a name, a concept, and a vision. We spent the next few months perfecting our craft, hand-pouring candles in our London flat and refining every detail.
In May 2024, Mistyque officially launched a brand that goes beyond just candles.
